We are knee deep in design work for some upcoming weddings, and we can't help but smile with delight as some of the top wedding trends for 2015 are being altered every so slightly for each of our clients. The list of our favorite wedding trends this season is LONG, so we thought we would narrow it down to our top 4!
1. Unfrosted (or Naked) Wedding Cakes
Whether you are going for strawberry shortcake, or a rich chocolate cake with mocha mousse filling, these naked cakes are in high demand this year and we couldn't be happier. They are simple and elegant, and perfect for every style of wedding. Add some candied grapes, berries, a few garden roses, and you have a stunning work of art that will be sure to wow your guests. Bisou couple, Erica and Matt, opted for an unfrosted cake for their January wedding, and Erica's reaction when she saw the cake for the first time was priceless.
2. Edible Favors:
There is no doubt that guests always appreciate a nibble on their way home from a fun filled wedding. Couples this season are choosing some delicious treats to give to their guests at the end of the night. One of our favorites from our Bisou New Year wedding was our hot chocolate and baileys favors. The Bisou team filled Mason jars with rich chocolate powder, topped with mini marshmallows, and crushed candy canes. We finished them off with a mini bottle of baileys tied to the jars with festive sparkly ribbon. Other ideas are mini pies in jars (be sure to attach a spoon so your guests can eat the pie on the way home), boxes filled with peach preserves and 3-4 bites of local cheeses, or a package of caramel popcorn.
3. Marquis Lights:
Now seriously, this is one of the best trends ever! Who doesn't like marquis lights? Whether it be your monogram, "Mr. and Mrs.", or "Love", these lights are such a fun addition to your gift table, or really anywhere.
4. Pastel Bridesmaids (and Brides!):
This trend has been around for a couple of seasons, and are we ever glad it is sticking around. Don't let the idea of Easter eggs scare you away. With a little direction and creative inspiration, you can incorporate pastels into your color palette in at the most beautiful way. We can't get enough of the subtle blush pink wedding gown and we are looking forward to showcasing some future Bisou brides in their blush gowns! Pastel bridesmaids gowns are also going strong this season, and there is no count that they are timeless and elegant. Just look at Bisou bride Megan's girls...they looked stunning in their pastel green gowns.
