August Couple of the Month

This August we're highlighting Alexis and Chris as our Bisou couple of the month!  This wedding was full of fun personal touches from fun fact napkins to an adorable cake topper.  Alexis and Chris had a beautiful ceremony held at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church with their family and friends in attendance. After a breathtaking photo shoot with the wedding party at Yaddo Gardens, everyone headed to Saratoga Polo to celebrate the newly weds!  All in all it was an incredibly fun summer wedding and we are thrilled to feature Alexis and Chris!

Alexis and Chris had this to say about their Bisou experience:

Guests told us that I was one of the happiest brides they have ever seen and that is definitely because of Sarah and her team at Bisou. Thanks to Sarah’s amazing organizational skills our day ran extremely smoothly and even ahead of schedule; even our priest said he never had a rehearsal run as smooth as ours. It is because of her wonderful personality and organizational skills that vendors love working with her and this definitely helped us have amazing vendors and an amazing day. So many guests commented on how wonderful Sarah and her team were and that she definitely changed their perceptions on wedding planners. We could not imagine our wedding without Sarah and Bisou!

Today's Taste of Color: Yellow and Green

Today's taste of color is the vibrant, summery combination of yellow and green.  Greenery has been very popular in 2017, and as we look to 2018 it doesn't seem to be a trend that will fade away anytime soon.  Add any shade of yellow and you have a beautiful combination sure to leave smiles on everyone's faces.  This color palette is perfect for the couple that is fun, bubbly and looking for some sunshine on their wedding day.  Plus, look how cute those yellow macaroons are!!

The Cuteness Factor

We love when the kiddos get to be a part of the big day! Their youthful, carefree attitudes set a great example for the adults to follow. You can count on them to provide both heartwarming and laughable moments. From ring bearers to jr. groomsgirls, here are some of our favorite Bisou cuties stealing the show.

How-to: Incorporate Mirrors Into Your Wedding

A mirror wedding theme is not only elegant and easy to plan, but it will give your wedding venue a touch of luxury and whimsy. A mirror wedding theme will go with any color combination you want. You can also make it more vintage by using mirrors in vintage frames or take a more modern and fancy approach by using unframed square mirrors adorned with candles and a touch of bling!

Backyard Wedding Inspiration

At Bisou, we love backyard bashes! Backyard weddings are super cozy and won’t break your budget. You can also make your nuptials any theme you desire, without limits of a venue. Consider a rustic, bohemian, or maybe vintage theme. Take all the best from your surroundings; mother nature, your garden, your home and backyard. In case the weather is bad, you can always come inside or order a beautiful wedding tent. Pick seasonal flavors and food, add some wooden slabs as a base to family style serving platters, and add chic rustic touches here and there to create a homey ambience. Check out this post for more inspiration to have a perfect backyard wedding!

1920's Inspiration

A wedding trend we love is the 1920s-inspired headbands for brides. 1920's fashions seem to symbolize a kind of romantic decadence directly in contrast to the financial depression going on during that time period. For the especially unique bride, this look is for you! Somehow this look compliments everyone, and adds that unexpected piece that your guests (and groom!) will always remember.

Romantic Floating Centerpieces

There is something hopelessly romantic about floating centerpieces at weddings. You can choose any type of glass containers - from tall, thin cylinders to low, wide bowls. Inside, you can add floating candles, flowers, pearls, or pebbles. These elegant arrangements are not only great as centerpieces, but also as accent decor (down the ceremony aisle for example). You can create a fresh and modern look with a long-stem rose, glass stones, and a floating candle, or a rustic and country look with grey rocks, moss, and wild flowers.

For my DIY brides out there, this one is for you! Incorporating floaters is also usually easier and less expensive then flower centerpieces. Take a look here for some inspiration!!

Modern Botanical Garden Wedding Inspiration

This photo shoot is the perfect inspiration for a modern botanical garden wedding. Where do I sign up?! The dramatic bouquet, pops of color, fun with unusual combinations is certain to make your heart skip a beat! I especially love the greenery in combination with bold shades of blue, hot magenta, and black.

Go Big or Go Home

Every bride and groom wants their wedding to be the best, biggest bash of the season. So, how do you make YOUR wedding stand out? Go BIG or go home! A great way to transform ANY space is with a BIG piece! Take these floral-filled letters spelling out the word "love," for example! The floral letters can be moved from your ceremony location, to your reception, to your backyard when the day is done to be replanted over and over again! For my DIY brides out there... you can DIY these letters, or make your own, personalized word. Perhaps your last name, or your designated wedding hashtag.

So, what wedding word would you build?!

Incredible Outdoor Wedding Tent Reception

With a crop of different types and styles, it's never been easier to personalize your wedding tent to your taste and theme. With a ton of customizable options like lighting, weather protection, and structure styles, tents are the perfect way to bring all the comforts of the indoors straight to your outdoor wedding!

And just because you a have a tent, doesn't mean you're limited on wedding décor. Couples can choose between enclosed "room in a room" structures with removable walls or breezy high-top tents perfect for a sunny post-wedding brunch. Coastal couples will love the airy style of sailcloth tents that boast high ceilings and and an open-space feel that's perfect for easy mingling. If you're going for a glamorous, black-tie evening, you should consider elegant fabrics draped across the ceilings with a crystal chandelier hanging overhead. Couples looking for something more minimal can opt for a clear marquee tent decorated with twinkling café lights or hanging greenery garlands for a more bohemian touch, like Bisou's very own couple- Delilah and Javier!

Delilah and Javier had a breathtakingly beautiful outdoor tented reception that's straight from our dreams. It gave off a chic, bohemian vibe while also being warm, inviting, and downright comfortable! Look at those couches! The rows of twinkle lights within the tent provided a shimmering, fairytale setting for the happy couple!
